Born, raised, and educated in Central Asia (Ashgabat City, Turkmenistan, a former part of the USSR), Larisa dates her passion for art from an early school age when she attended drawing classes in after school programs. She developed a fusion of art styles growing up in a multicultural environment.
Larisa graduated from the University of Textile Industry (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) in 1993 with BA in Design & Art. There, she was part of a costume design committee for over 200 participants for the Independence Day of Uzbekistan in 1992. She was also one of the designers and participants for numerous fashion shows of the University’s Fashion Theater.
Larisa came to the U.S.A. in 1995. She worked in the business world for several years before deciding to go back to her true passion: art. Larisa is an easel painter as well as muralist. Her art style is focusing on fantasy themes, illustrative ideas, and fashion sketches in acrylics, ink pen, oil pastels, ink on wet, color pencils, fabrics, faux finishes, and often a combination of the above for different effects. Many of her pieces are representations of women - the feminine forms of emotions, moods, and characters.
In this country (the U.S.A.), her work has appeared in the Spring Bull Gallery, Cadeaux du Monde Gallery, and Deblois Gallery in Newport, RI, Warwick Museum of Art, as well as many murals in private homes and commercial spaces. Currently Larisa’s art works are on display and available for sale at Complements Art Gallery, Warwick RI.
